Situations where an incorrect code may have been issued are where:
Following this blunder, HMRC has issued an apology and the following statement “If you are concerned about your tax code and you think it is wrong, particularly if it falls into one of these three categories, then you should check it using the guidance included with the Coding Notice and our website. If you cannot resolve your query using this they say you should contact them on 0845 3000 627 so they can make sure you have the right tax code applied in time for the start of the new tax year on 6 April 2010.”
The HM Revenue & Customs helpline is overwhelmed and many callers who have tried to call the helpline have been unable to get through.
How we can help If you are concerned abou your tax code and you think it is incorrect, please feel free to contact us.
